Alikes resort is named after the salt pans that line the resort on all sides with the beach stretching behind it across the bay over to Alykanas a total of 3km.  It sits about 16km away from the Zante airport making it convenient for those who are flying into Zante for holiday.

The village area of the Alikes resort can be somewhat creepy at night due to the moons shadows but it is still a magnificent site to take in and creates a magical feeling for those who are out after hours.

While swimming on the beach of the resort one needs to be careful due to the fact the water is shallow for about three metres and then drops sharply which is one reason that surfers love the location.

Most water sports and sunbeds are found on the centre of the beach making it the epicentre of activity but also the epicentre of cigarette butts so remember to pack sandals if heading to the Alikes resort.

The resort area of Alikes is quite small compared to other major resort areas on Zante with just a few streets that are lined with cafes, taverns, and souvenir shops.  However, it does have a slightly more developed bar scene than the neighbouring resort of Alykanas.
