The Zante resort of Alykanas sits atop a giant sandy bar that continues over to the neighbouring resort of Alykes, however of the two Alykanas is becoming a favourite among the British due to its slow transition towards status as a burger and chips resort.

Below the resort sits the Alykanas beach, which is covered with scrub, olive groves, and low dunes as well as a petite harbour nearby where one can hire fishing boats for a quiet escape onto the sea.
