Kalamaki is often referred to as the upscale sector of the Laganas beach, offering darker beach sands and plenty of entertainment options, with a much less raucous atmosphere.  Although the Kalamaki resort is still not considered a quiet holiday resort, it does offer a much more dignified party scene that often appeals to older holiday goers.

It is also a great location for those flying into Zante as it is only 3km away from the Zante Airport, making it a quick five minute taxi ride.

The beach surrounding the Kalamaki resort is lined with soft sand and shallow waters.  Also a treat are the impressive rock formations that can be viewed from the coastline.  It also boasts several nesting sites of the famous Zante turtles, which in turn dictates that tourists keep their sun bedding and other activities located close to the shoreline.

Behind the Kalamaki resort there are plenty of citrus and olive groves as well as Mt. Skopos which creates for stunning views regardless of which way your hotel room faces.

The nightlife at the Kalamaki resort is consists of mostly bars and taverns with Laganas only a short walk away for those that want to party at the clubs but head back to quieter accommodations during the late night and day time.
