The Lithakia resort is sandwiched between the major resorts of Laganas and Keri Lake along the south east top of the Zante Island. It is very quiet compared to most other resort locations due to its small size and historical nature.
Due to the fact that Lithakia has not yet been commercialized as it strives to hang onto its architectural integrity the resort area is quiet, traditional, and very relaxing making it perfect for those want to take a time out from life in a paradise holiday location.
The village of Lithakia itself is one of the oldest areas on the island built against the lower slope of the Megalo Vouno Mountain extended over to the gulf of the major tourist resort Laganas.
The most historical site in the direct Lithakia resort area is the Church of St. Ioannis which is one of the only remaining three buildings that survived the massive earthquakes of 1953 that destroyed almost every structure on the island.
Of special note within the Lithaki resort area are the Leeda Village villas which are built traditionally of stone to fit in with the Zante style and are only 200m away from the shoreline of the beach near where the famous loggerhead turtles nest.
